Dr. John F. Sangiorgio graduated from the University of Milan, Italy in 1981 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. He also received a BS degree from Villanova in 1975. Dr. Sangiorgio is the sole founder of The Veterinary Emergency Center which he began in 1985. He was recently given the NYC Veterinary Award for his dedication to the health and welfare of animals. He has a strong interest in emergency medicine and surgery. He also was the host of the “Pet Line” radio talk show. Dr. Sangiorgio is an outspoken animal advocate and has testified many times at the NYC Council and Borough Hall on the behalf of animals. He is also the President-Elect of the Veterinary Medical Association of New York City. |

Dr. Lisa V. Lukas graduated from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine, Grafton, MA in 2001 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. Dr. Lukas also received a BS degree in Biology from the College of Staten Island in 1997. Dr. Lukas received board certification in 2001 and holds a license in the State of New York. Dr. Lukas is a member of the AVMA and the AAHA. Dr. Lukas’ main area of concentration is small animal practice. She has worked at the Veterinary Emergency Center as a veterinarian since 2001. Dr. Lukas is married and has an incredibly spoiled Shih-Tzu named Zoey, and a new baby Lhaso Apso named Zena. |

Dr. Noreen Eskanzi obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Parma, Italy and she has been in private practice since graduation. She is a distinguished member of the AVMA and the New York City Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Eskanzi volunteered her services for the NYPD K-9 Unit and did disaster work at the World Trade Center. Dr. Eskanzi’s many years of experience brings quality care to all of her patients. |

Dr. Jonathan Trail graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his clinical year at the University of Pennsylvania. He became a doctor not only to help animals, but also to help people. As a young man he recognized the special bond that pets bring to a family. His interests within Veterinary Medicine include emergency medicine, surgery and ultrasound. He is extremely dedicated to providing quality care to sick and injured animals. Jonathan also believes in providing quality elective surgery such as spays and neuters for the prevention of discarded animals. |

Dr. Tara Purcell graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University and completed her clinical year at Cornell University. Her professional interests include internal medicine, surgery, and cardiology. She believes strongly in educating clients on wellness care and preventative medicine. Her greatest reward is to see the pet’s quality of life improved under her care. |
